INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATRE (IB) OR A-LEVEL TRAINED TEACHERS

Besides teaching the subject(s), teachers are expected to inculcate moral values in students. The incumbent will undertake planning and execution of various School activities throughout the year, some of which are held over weekends.

Requirements:

  • A good degree from an established University in the subject(s) stated
  • At least 4 years of teaching experience in the subject areas
  • Previous experience in teaching these subjects at GCE ‘A’ level or IB Diploma level would be a distinct advantage
  • Self-motivated and passionate about educating students
  • Able to multi-task and work independently
  • Able to plan and execute the various other activities of the School

Boarding Administrator cum Student Guide

 Job Description

HCIS Residence is committed to promote holistic development of boarding students beyond the classroom by provding a conducive living and learning environment for students. We provide quality services and facilities for students to grow and develop in various aspects of their lives. Through quality interaction with our qualified and caring Boarding Administrator and Student Guide, students will be inspired to discover more about themselves and others, while reflecting on how to become a caring community player and life-long inquirers.

As a member of the school community, the Boarding Administrator cum Student Guide shall work with students and teachers to promote independent learning, character building and the development of important life-skills. He/she shall motivate and inspire students to devote time and energy to healthy and fruitful activities to help in their development. Living alongside the boarders also allows the incumbent to help boarding students to address their persona, social and emotional needs. Some of these basic responsibilities include:

  • Develop an open and trusting relationship with boarding students as their guide and availing themselves to them to discuss concerns, interests, academic needs, aspirations, etc;
  • Help create and maintain a supportive atmosphere for student learning and development within the boarding community;
  • Develop, lead and support various programmes and activities in boarding to facilitate student bonding and individual development;
  • Serve as mentors in assisting boarding students in transitions, learning life-skills in resolving conflicts and managing learning, building of character and independence, developing a sense of community;
  • Guide students to comply with Boarding rules and policies and guide those who violated rules for alignment;
  • Manage an environment conducive for boarders to study and rest.
  • Liaison with parents and guardians on boarders where needed.
  • Observe and ensure that the School’s administrative policies and procedures are complied with.
  • Manage administrative duties.
  • Live in at Boarding is required unless otherwise specified by the School.

 

Job Specifications

  • A degree or diploma from an established University or Polytechnic.
  • At least 1-2 years of relevant working experience. 
  • Possess appropriate dispositions such as empathy towards students and to manage the demands of the job.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills especially in English and mandarin.
  • Organised, meticulous and able to multitask.
  • Experience with boarding services and guiding young people will be a good fit with the role. 
  • Additional skill-sets like first-aid and mentoring students would be an added advantage.
  • Retirees with the needed experience, knowledge and skills may apply.
