HCIS Announces Stellar Results, with its 2022
IB Graduating Cohort Attaining Outstanding Achievements

Much euphoria at Hwa Chong International School (HCIS) followed the announcement of the November 2022 International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) examination results, marking yet another year of excellent academic achievements for the school.

HCIS is incredibly proud of its 2022 IB graduating class, who persevered throughout the Covid-19 pandemic and went on to deliver quality IB results. This year, we are extremely delighted to report an IBDP average score of 38.8 points. An impressive 68.7% of the graduating cohort scored 38 points or more, with a remarkable 51.7% of them achieving 40 points and above. We are also very happy to announce that 17 students attained a score of 44 or 45 points, yet another commendable feat achieved by the cohort. These excellent results will see our students progressing to prestigious and top-tiered universities around the world.

HCIS’ consistent strength in helping students stretch themselves to realize their true potential regardless of entry point is once again exhibited in the outstanding academic performance; many of these students had joined the school with average academic scores. Widely known as a school that inculcates Asian values with a contemporary global outlook, HCIS prides itself especially on its value-add to student learning and holistic development; every student has the opportunity to explore their passions while honing their unique competencies, and this is best exemplified in our educational philosophy of “Education for All, According to Each”.

Our students have continued to shine despite the many challenges as we transited to living with Covid; they have had to adapt and be even more resilient. This year’s noteworthy IB accomplishment is a testament to the hard work and determination of our students, and the unwavering dedication and commitment of our dynamic team of teaching staff. Our thanks also go to all parents and guardians who have accompanied their children and ward in their IB journey and remained steadfast in their support for our school throughout the years, with the firm belief that such close partnership is pertinent in the academic pursuit and ultimate success.

While we celebrate the remarkable results of our graduating cohort, HCIS continues to look forward to reaching higher goals as it gathers momentum to be a leading IB World School offering unique global and Asian perspectives, with a mission to build capability and develop character in students to become independent, innovative and international-minded learners of tomorrow.
