\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tMin-wei graduated from HCIS IBDP in 2016 with an impressive score of 44 points. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Architecture at the Rhode Island School of Design in the USA. \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

I graduated in 2016 from HCIS, and am honestly glad to have spent the most formative years of my life there. Since the beginning of my experience in 2011, I have managed to build some of the strongest bonds with those around me that continue to grow today. Initially, what drew me to HCIS was the option of taking the IB diploma instead of other courses but in my 6 years, I have had experiences that mean so much more than just a credential. The teachers are the most valuable assets of the school. Receiving nothing but support from them, I managed to surpass my expectations of what could be achieved academically.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

I have just finished my third year pursuing a Bachelor of Architecture degree at the Rhode Island School of Design but the path was not always as clear as it is now. After graduating in 2016, I was at a loss as to where I should be headed. Thus, a gap year seemed like the most obvious choice.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tHow did people around you react to your decision of taking a year off your studies?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t

Though the option was one associated with stigma and fears of being left behind, I have received nothing but support from my peers and teachers; individuals who guided me through the process with advice and career discussions that extended beyond my time in HCIS. Another aspect that has been extremely useful in my advancement is the drive the school cultivated within me. It is an asset that I would not have been able to strengthen without my teachers; they pushed me when I needed encouragement and never settled for anything less than what they believed I could achieve.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

With two years left to the completion of my degree, I can say with certainty that though the process will not always be smooth sailing, knowing that I have an arsenal of support keeps me grounded and determined to improve myself.
