Special Admission Test for Returning Singaporeans

HCIS will be conducting a Special Admission Test for Returning Singaporeans, including Singapore Permanent Residents, who wish to join us at Year 1, Year 2, Year 3 or IB1 in the next academic year.

Admission application for the 2027 academic year will open in July, and the admission test is expected to be conducted in early September 2026. Actual dates will be announced later.

Eligibility Criteria

Your child is eligible to apply if he/she:

  • is a Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident returning from living and studying overseas
  • is a non-Singaporean/non-SPR returning from living and studying overseas, but has at least one parent who is a Singapore Citizen.
  • is applying for admission to Year 1 (Grade 7), Year 2 (Grade 8), Year 3 (Grade 9) or IB1 (Grade 11) in 2027
  • has completed, by the end of December 2026, a curriculum that is one level below the intended entry level, with consistently good academic performance over the preceding three years

Age Requirement

Admission is in accordance with the age limits stipulated by Singapore’s Ministry of Education (MOE). For each level, the age limit of up to 2 years over the normal age is to be adhered to.
