Home / Student Development / IPPT & NS Preparation
All male Singapore citizens and Permanent Residents, upon reaching the age of 18, are called upon to serve with either the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF), the Singapore Police Force (SPF), or the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF). A combination of your Physical Employment Standards (PES), Pre-Enlistee Individual Physical Proficiency Test (IPPT) scores, indication of vocation interest and Body Mass Index (BMI), will determine the type and duration of basic military training in each of the uniformed Services you could be assigned to for your full-time NS.
