Student Well-being

In our eyes, the social-emotional well-being of our students is just as important as the imparting of skills and knowledge. Hence, the HCIS curriculum is complemented with systems and programmes that cultivate a caring school environment, support students’ mental wellness and develop their empathy and social responsibility.
Our Student Well-Being Team, comprising of teachers and school counsellors, works to:
  • Promote a culture of care and friendliness within the school that enhances student morale and well-being through interest-based student programmes: Green Ambassadors and Care Ambassadors;
  • Provide comprehensive mental health education to develop students into positive, healthy and balanced individuals through talks, workshops and peer support programmes;
  • Identify students’ emotional needs through the application of wellness surveys;
  • Provide counselling support for students with social and emotional difficulties.
