Let’s Spark: Lifeline Singapore Resilience Workshop for Korean Boarders

Since 2022, Lifeline Singapore has been very supportive of HCIS Boarding in organising

wellness programs for Korean boarders. Volunteers from this non-profit organisation

provide counselling and support to Korean students to help them adapt well to life in Singapore.

For the academic year, the sessions will focus on the theme “Let’s Spark”. The counsellors aim to empower the participants to develop their own coping strategies for dealing with stress. The program commenced on 28 March and was attended by 15 Korean students. They engaged in various games and had the opportunity to meet individuals who have demonstrated resilience in facing life’s challenges. A follow-up session was conducted on 9 May, with the highlight being art therapy. Participants were given the opportunity to express their ability to face challenges through a cotton art activity. The two sessions culminated with a sumptuous Korean dinner prepared by Lifeline volunteers.

There are three more sessions scheduled for this academic year. Korean students eagerly anticipate bonding with other participants and facilitators in the upcoming sessions. They look forward to engaging in more fun and meaningful activities that will allow them to shine brightly in their own unique ways. As the theme says, “Let’s Spark!”
